SUMMARY:The Ship that Chester Built: Exploring Chester’s links with slavery
DESCRIPTION:In 1750\, the St George was built in Chester’s shipyard. In three separate voyages\, she carried a total of 662 enslaved people from Bonny on the coast of West Africa to plantations in the Caribbean. Please access 30 St Werburgh Street using the entrance on Werburgh Street\, which was previously the customer entrance to Barclays Bank. \nYou will be visiting a historic site/area – please mind your step. The walk will run come rain or shine\, do come prepared.
